The Citizens Bank Opera House, formerly the Boston Opera House, is a historic theater in the heart of the city’s Theater District in the South End of Boston, Massachusetts. The theater was built in 1929 and is a popular venue for touring Broadway shows, opera, ballet, and other live performing arts events. The Citizens Bank Opera House has a seating capacity of approximately 2,700 and features a grand lobby, ornate décor, and state-of-the-art lighting and sound system. The Citi Performing Arts Center, a non-profit organization that presents various live performing arts events in the Boston area, manages the theater.
